London Fashion and Beauty Photographer:

"Photography isolates the fundamental artistic ability to see the extraordinary. It is through arrangements of light, angle, lense, film and a split second decision to capture the moment that make photographs an extremely personal expression." - Anonymous Photographer

Something I truly believe.  Unfortunately I cannot recall where I found it or who said it.

A little about me:

I am a fashion and beauty photographer based in London.  I was born in El Salvador and raised in the United States (Miami, Florida).  I discovered a love for photography at a very young age.  Fascinated by the entire photographic process, this curiosity led me to the darkroom at age ten.  Soon after, I joined photography clubs in school after my father gave me a 35mm camera. I became a contributing photographer and later photo editor for the university newspaper and yearbook. While assisting several photographers in Miami, I discovered fashion and realized the potential for creativity. My father’s sudden death forced me to move back to my home country of El Salvador, where I continued my love for photography working as a commercial photographer for many multi national clients in the Central American region. In 2000, I decided to take a year off and go to Paris. A year later I started teaching photography at Parsons Paris. I divided my time by teaching, assisting fashion photographers and testing for several model agencies. In 2004 I moved to London when I was recruited by a major hair-care brand to be their main photographer.  I was responsible for photographing all of their major world-wide campaigns for all of their brands. I consider myself a photography geek always thinking of subjects and different lighting. My world revolves around photography and I am equally at home on location or in a studio. I still lectures from time to time at the prestigious London College of Fashion from where I have a masters degree in fashion photography.  I guess I am known for my romantic and sexy imagery with a touch of class and strong composition.  These days I am usually in my studio in Battersea (www.raspberry-jam.com).
